Nearly half of enquiries received by estate and letting agencies arrive outside conventional office hours, according to new data from proptech company LightWork AI.
The analysis examined calls, emails and property portal enquiries received between July and September 2026. It found that 43% of all inbound contacts came in outside the 9am-to-5pm, Monday-to-Friday working window.
The finding combines multiple channels through which buyers, tenants, landlords and vendors contact agencies. It points to a substantial volume of prospective customer activity taking place during evenings and weekends, rather than during standard business hours.
For agents, developers and residential landlords, the timing of enquiries can shape how leads are captured and followed up. The data does not assess conversion outcomes, but it underlines the need to account for demand that arises beyond staffed office periods.
The results were reported by Property Wire, which said the figures were released by LightWork AI.
