Annual growth in UK house prices slowed to 0.8% in September, half the previous pace and the weakest rate of expansion since December 2025, according to Nationwide.
Average property values fell 0.2% from August to £274,251, underlining a softer national market after a period of limited price appreciation.
Regional results continued to diverge. Northern Ireland recorded the strongest annual increase, at 5.9%, while East Anglia was the only region cited as posting a year-on-year fall, with prices down 0.7%.
The figures highlight the uneven conditions facing buyers, sellers and developers across the UK, with regional demand and affordability pressures shaping markedly different outcomes. The data were reported by Property Wire.
